The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has 120,000 members paying an annual subscription. A condition of membership is to undertake a minimum of 60 hours of CPD over a three year period. Historically, CPD activities have not been audited.

To test the commercial viability of developing a Portal site to track, monitor and record CPD, RICS commissioned Epic to design and develop a pilot site. Content of the pilot was broad and contained a range of resources, links and tools. These included e-learning material, information on training events, career profiles, job competencies, case studies, CPD record and FAQ's.

Epic hosted the portal and provided a weekly statistical report relating to site usage. This data combined with an online feedback questionnaire will ensure that the full site rollout meets RICS' members needs.
